Hoffa's disease

Also known as infrapatellar fat impingement

Infrapatellar fat pad impingement due to trauma
Edema/hypertrophy/hemorrgae/necrosis/calcium of the Hoffa's fat

Clinical features:
Anterior knee pain, swelling, limited movements
Positive Hoffa's sign

MR:
Large portion of whole of Hoff'a fat shows abnormal signal and morphology
Bowing of the patellar tendon
a/w effusion
inflammatory/ fibrous/ hemorrhagic/ fibrocartilagenous/ calcific/ rarely ossific

Intervention:
USG guided injection from the lateral approach is used
